6-semester plan
My six-semester plan isn’t the typical route, but that’s because I came in with 29 transfer credits, allowing me to finish my construction management degree in just three years. The workload is heavy, but it’s all structured and doable.
With my summers mostly open, I plan to use that time for internships or a study abroad experience to get hands-on industry exposure. By the end of my first year, I’ll have knocked out all non-major requirements, so my last two years will be fully focused on construction management.
Since I’m wrapping up my degree in three years, I need to start planning my next steps early. I don’t have everything figured out yet, but I know I’m taking this degree to the next level—whether that’s jumping straight into the field, getting industry certifications, or even considering grad school. It won’t be easy, but I’m ready for the challenge.
One artifact I am proud to include from this semester is my Business Snapshot Project from my intro to management [MGT 300] class. This project involved researching a real company—its background, mission, market position, challenges, and opportunities—and presenting a clear, structured overview. I chose to focus on this project because it allowed me to dive deep into a real-world business and apply critical thinking, research skills, and presentation techniques.
What made this assignment meaningful was how it connected with my academic interests in entrepreneurship and business management. It pushed me to analyze how a company operates in its specific industry and how internal and external factors influence its performance. I’m especially proud of how I organized the information and synthesized different aspects of the company’s operations into a concise, professional report.
This artifact showcases my ability to conduct applied research, interpret business data, and communicate findings clearly—skills that are vital to my future career goals. I believe it reflects both my growth and my strengths as a student in the business field.
